OTA Felix J. Kirkpatrick

March 29, 1999: Felix J. Kirkpatrick Jr., 83, a member of the renowned Tuskegee Airmen during World War II, of a ruptured aorta at Christ Hospital and Medical Center, Oak Lawn, in Illinois.  Two of the most decorated Tuskegee airmen of World War II were appointed to West Point by Congressman Oscar De Priest: Lt. Gen. Benjamin O. Davis and Maj. Felix Jackson Kirkpatrick, Jr.  Both are in the Illinois Aviation Hall of Fame at Rantoul.  Kirkpatrick was dismissed under suspicious circumstances following his freshmen year due to demerits given him by upperclassmen.  Was a good friend of Cornelilus Coffey and Willa Brown and member of the Challenger Air Pilots Club.
