Sponsors/Donors: We need your help to fund programs which support “LEGACY PRESERVATION; ACADEMIC PREPARATION; and AVIATION EDUCATION.
March 22, 2016 marked the 75th Anniversary of the activation of the U.S. Army Air Corps 99th Pursuit Squadron, America’s first black combat aviation unit and comprised of pilots and support personnel who were initially trained at Chanute Field, (Rantoul) IL.
This year also marks the 40th Anniversary of the Chicago “DODO” Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. (CDCTAI). Appropriately, the event established to commemorate these milestones is titled, “Legends to Legacy”; it will be held on August 27th 2016 from 3-7pm in the B. Coleman aviation facility at the Gary Chicago Airport. This is also the airfield where our monthly Young Eagle rallies are held.
Proceeds from this fundraising event will be used to support our Educational Assistance and Aviation Education programs for youth.
Thanks to past donations received, CDCTAI programs have already reached numerous youth through its Young Eagles, Gary Flight Academy and other aviation programs. Another group of students have been recipients of the college scholarships that we have awarded since 2004. Another group of young people, exponentially larger than the first two have been positively impacted through our mentoring and outreach programs.
Too few youth, especially those in at risk communities never dare to” dream the impossible dream” of pursuing careers in aviation, engineering, technology and the sciences.
To address this ongoing need, CDCTAI is asking for your help in sustaining these worthwhile programs by becoming a sponsor, purchasing advertising space in the event’s program book, being an Exhibitor, or purchasing a table for you and your guests. We guarantee that you will have an enjoyable experience and spend a memorable evening with our Original Tuskegee Airmen.
